A 3 - bedroom villa amid busy streets full of cafes, beach clubs, coffee shops, and retails, in the Canggu area. Countering its environment, the villa needs to have a more cold, less bright, and calm ambiance. “Elegant” and “tropical” as keywords that were implemented in material selection, spatial journey, and facilities that offer quite the experience. Almost every element o f the villa responds to the sun, from its Shape to the Layout. We try to seize a view in each room by making an architectural frame that points out either to a garden or to a Public Area. Where every 3 bedrooms has a bathtub and spacious terrace, the Commo n Area of the villa was created to have a direct connection to each other as if it can be extended, making this quite valuable as it has options of accessibility and transparency.
Emphasizing the Elegant and Tropical, we choose dark grey materials like Lav a Stone, Textured Cement, and Terrazzo for most walls and floors, while having natural Bengkirai Wood for all doors and windows. Combining these materials gives the building a calm and composed impression. We let plants and trees sit all around the buildin g and every room has its own garden or small garden, making the proportion of green and dark to be more natural, somewhat similar to a waterfall environment, as each room has a bathtub just beside these gardens.
