Amid the residential area that surrounds Canggu as a vital tourism point of Bali, we try to put a comfortable villa and try to forget that it’s in the residential area. Thus, a private open space in the middle of the site is needed. Inspired by swimming in a breathtaking natural forest, we created the middle area to be a creek - like scenery where people feel like swimming on the river bank surrounded by green vegetation. Having 3 Bedrooms that each has an outdoor Shower, we also put a special Rooftop as the highest spot on the house, which can be used fo r picnic lunch, candle - light dinner, or stargazing, so the user has several options of activities in the villa.
As we were trying to capture and seize nature - like space in the villa, we also picked natural materials as its main elements like wood and stone . The outdoor walls of rooms are mainly covered by vertical wooden screens, which act as a visual buffer while air and light can still come through. The rest of the walls use beige polished cement walls and we put some Wayang Stones so natural textures can still be felt while the color is still monochrome to the cement wall.
